Getting started with CoScripter

Edit Duplicate

After opening this script in the CoScripter sidebar, the first step below will be highlighted in green. Click the “Step” button above to run this command.

  • go to “www.google.com”

Google’s homepage is now shown in the main browser window. The next step, below, says to click the “Images” link. Note that the “Images” link is also highlighted in green on the page to the right. Click step to continue.

  • click the “Images” link

The next step is to enter text into the search box. Note that the search term (“koalas”) is highlighted in green on the webpage to the right. The text is not entered until CoScripter performs that step. Now click the “Run” button above to automatically run the remaining steps in this script.

  • enter “koalas” into the “Search Images” textbox
  • click the “Search Images” button
  • you click on an image to view (read the text below)

Notice that CoScripter paused on the previous step, and it is highlighted in red. The word “you” in this step tells CoScripter to stop running the script and wait for you to click on the image you want to see. Afterwards, you can click “Step” or “Run” to continue.

  • click the “Back to image results” link

You can click on a different step to jump around in the script. CoScripter will resume from that point. Try that now.

  • you click Step now to finish this script and start over from the beginning

a propos the Bilder bug mentioned below I suppose a reasonable explanation would be that the script was edited by jimmy at Wed Dec 19 16:41:58 UTC 2007 who was using a German version of Google. This obviously points out a weakness in sharing scripts across the internet.

There seems to be a bug in this script. The second step above says 'click the "Bilder" link', which Bilder is, I believe the German for Images. I suppose this is based by reading my current IP address or language settings, uncertain as to which and don't want to take the time to figure it out, I am currently in Italy, from Denmark (where Images would be Billeder), recently passed through Germany though :) However my google settings are english based, thus there is no Bilder link. There is an Images link. If I change my Google settings to be German http://www.google.com/ig?hl=de there is a Bilder link.

Interesting, think this one might be nice if you could use it on a mobile. Anyone knows if it is/could be possible?

It went to my iGoogle home page, and worked just fine from there. Love the koalas!

Make sure you are using the "Classic" Google page and not the iGoogle page. It does not work with iGoogle page.

Text says the script should go to Google, but instead it tries to open webrisk.net. What's going on? Hacked?
