Frequently-asked questions

Where is my CoScripter Reusable History history stored?
Your history is stored unencrypted in a sqlite database on your hard drive. Anyone who can log in to your computer can use the CoScripter Reusable History interface to search and view your history.
Will CoScripter Reusable History record passwords and other private data?
For your safety, CoScripter Reusable History never records data typed into password boxes on the web. However, web pages may also ask you for sensitive information outside of a password box, such as an account number. CoScripter Reusable History does record these actions.
How can I remove sensitive data from my history?
You have two options. First, you can disable CoScripter Reusable History recording before performing a sensitive operation. With the CoScripter Reusable History panel open, click on the orange button in the upper-left corner of the panel to toggle recording. CoScripter Reusable History will not record any more of your web actions until you toggle recording back on. The icon will change to gray to indicate that CoScripter Reusable History is turned off.

Second, you can delete actions from your history once they have been recorded. In the CoScripter Reusable History list view, use shift-click to select one or more actions from the list. Right-click and select the "Delete" option to remove these actions permanently from your history.
Is my history shared with anyone else?
No. Your history is stored only on your local hard drive and not sent to a server or otherwise shared in any way. You can explicitly share a set of actions with someone else by selecting one or more actions, and then clicking the Facebook, CoScripter, or email icons. You can also copy and paste a sequence of actions from your history to a different program as text.
Can I change whether recording is on by default?
Yes. This, and several other options, may be customized by opening the "Options" dialog for the extension. To do this, open the "Tools" menu in your browser and select the "Add-ons" menu item. A window will open listing all of your extensions. Find and click on the "CoScripter Reusable History" item in the list. An "Options" button will appear, and clicking this button will open another window that will allow you to customize CoScripter Reusable History's recording behavior.
